  Abstract:

  With the rise of digital technology and digitalization, researchers have devoted great attention to how organizational digitalization affects firm strategy and performance. As Chinese scholars, how can we develop digitalization strategy research with unique China features? In this seminar, I will summarize (1) the phenomenon and impact of digital economy and (2) extant digitalization research, and then propose approaches of doing marketing strategy research in China.


  Introduction to the lecturer:

  Zhou Zheng is professor of Strategy and International Business at the School of Economics and Management, university of Hong Kong. Professor Zhou has published extensively in the leading academic journals of strategic management research and is currently one of the most prolific and influential scholars in the field of emerging market strategy in the world. The theoretical viewpoints, empirical conclusions and theoretical analysis framework proposed by these papers have been cited by many internationally renowned scholars. Since 2011, Professor Zhou has been awarded as the World's Top 1% Top Scholar by Clarivate Analytics Essential Science Indicators, and has been awarded as the "World's Most cited Scholar" every year since 2016.
  Professor Zhou serves on the editorial board of several academic journals, including STRATEGIC Management Journal SMJ, International Business Research Journal JIBS, etc. He has served as senior editor of THE Asia-pacific Management journal APJM, associate editor of the International Marketing journal JIM, and a member of the Hong Kong Government Research Fund Review Committee. Prof. Zhou has won many awards for his academic achievements, such as hkU Research Achievement Award (2006, 2011); Distinguished Scholar Award, Faculty of Business and Economics, UNIVERSITY of Hong Kong (2013); Hku Distinguished Scholar Award (2016).
