The 2022 Annual Conference of the Chinese Society for Fiscal Studies and the 23rd National Seminar on Fiscal Theory was held in Beijing on Nov 3, at which the results of the 7th National Excellent Research Results on Fiscal Theory were announced. Wuhan University won two first prizes, two second prizes and one third prize. We’re the only university that won two first prizes.

"Quantitative Measurement of Fiscal Redistribution and Poverty Reduction in China" by Professor Lu Hongyou of EMS and "Towards Balanced Income Growth: Has China's Transfer Payment System ‘Targeted Poverty Alleviation’?" by Professor Lu Shengfeng, won the first prize. In addition, Professor Li Yongyou's paper "Can Replacing Business Tax with Value-added Tax in Service Industry Promote the upgrading of manufacturing Industry?" and Prof. Liu Qiongzhi's paper "Tax Competition, Capital Outflow and Investment Environment Improvement: A Study on the Parallel Path of Economic Growth and Equitable Income Distribution" won the second prize; Professor Gong Feng's monograph Research on Financial Incentives, Equality of Opportunity and Equalization of Public Services won the third prize.

It is reported that the selection of the National Excellent Financial Theory Research Achievement Award is the highest level of the financial academic evaluation activity, the selection is once every four years, in the field of finance has a wide range of participation and high authority. This evaluation awards 14 first prize, 40 second prize, third prize 53.
