About the Speaker:

Tariq H. Malik is a professor of Business & Management at Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE), Dalian. He is the founding director of ICOIS (International Centre for Organization and Innovation Studies). His researches innovation management, technology policy and knowledge transfer. Hence, cross-national technology transfer for innovation leads him to develop scholarship in the context of international business.

Tariq has published in Research Policy, International Business Review, Technology Analysis and Strategic Management. He is expecting 2 articles in top tier journals this year. In addition, he has two forthcoming articles: Strategic Management Journal and Technovation, both are at revise-resubmit stage.

Tariq has a PhD from University of London, UK in Innovation Management and Strategy. He has a master degree in Research Methodology, an MBA and a Masters in Development Economics. Prior to becoming an academic in 2002, he has worked in industrial setting in private and public enterprises. He has been technical advisor to royal palaces in the Middle East; he has been entrepreneur in high technology sector; and he has be external consultant to enterprises in South East Asia, the UK and Middle East.

Currently, Tariq teaches International Business, Innovation Management and Research Methods at DUFE, Dalian. He commutes between Dalian, London and Singapore. He is independent director of two SMEs. As hobbies, Tariq likes to fly private airplanes, he goes for scuba diving and he enjoys creative writing. He has passion for poetry and creativity.
