The 11th International Symposium on Complex Scientific Management was Successfully Held in Wuhan

The 11th International Symposium on Complex Scientific Management was held in school of Economics and Management, Wuhan University from November 14 to 15, 2020. The conference is co-sponsored by complex scientific management branch of Chinese technical and economic institute, Wuhan system engineering institute, school of economics and management, Wuhan university, Wuhan university of complex science management research center, north China electric power university institute of economics and management, technology innovation research center, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua university college of economics and management, Dalian university of technology, management and economic department, Jilin university school of management, the University of Toronto in Canada and the University of Adelaide in Australia. The school of Economics and Management of Wuhan University, the School of Information Management of Wuhan University, the Research Center of National Governance and Economic System Modernization of Wuhan University, the School of Economics and Management of North China Electric Power University and the School of Management of Wuhan University of Technology are jointly organized. During the two-day conference, renowned experts and scholars in various research fields exchanged widely on the theme of "Complex Scientific Management and Major Public Emergencies". The conference also held the "Xu Xusong Award for Complex Scientific Management" award ceremony.

Professor Xu Xusong, consultant of Complex Science Management Research Center of Wuhan University, Professor Chen Xiaohong, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of Hunan Technology and Business University, Du Xiaocheng, Party Secretary, School of Economics and Management, Wuhan University, Andrew N. Kleit, Professor at Pennsylvania State University and economic adviser to the Federal Trade Commission's Competition Bureau, professor Chen Jin, cheung Kong Distinguished Professor, National Outstanding Qing, director of the Technology Innovation Research Center of Tsinghua University, professor Wang Huimin, cheung Kong Distinguished Professor and associate dean of Business School, Hohai University, professor Wu Desheng is the president of One Belt And One Road college of Chinese Academy of Sciences and academician of European academy of sciences, more than 100 experts and scholars including Professor Li Beiwei, dean of School of Management of Jilin University, attended the meeting. Professor Fang Debin, executive chairman of the Conference and vice dean of School of Economics and Management, Wuhan University, presided over the opening ceremony of the session.

Academician Chen Xiaohong first delivered a speech, expressing her best wishes for complex scientific management research. She points out that complex scientific management is a new management idea after human-oriented management-Strategic competition-Japanese management skills-learning organization. The theme of this conference is "Research on Complex Scientific Management and Major Public Emergencies", which is in line with the current COVID-19 outbreak around the world. It was hoped that this conference could contribute to the prevention and control of COVID-19 from the perspective of academic theories.

At the awarding ceremony of the "Xu Xusong Award for Complex Scientific Management", Vice President Zhang Farin, Professor Li Chongguang, Secretary Du Xiaocheng, Professor Xie Kefan, Professor Xia Huosong, Professor Fan Ruguo and Professor Xu Xusong presented certificates and prizes to the winners as presentators.

Professor Xie Kefan, executive deputy director of The Research Center of System Science and Engineering, Wuhan University of Technology, presided over the session of keynote report. Five scholars gave a keynote speech.

In the parallel forum, more than 30 experts and scholars held dialogues and exchanges on the parallel forums with the themes of "Complex Scientific management Theory", "Public health event and Emergency Management", "Innovation Management and marketing" and "Complex Network and Complex Operation Management" respectively.

Professor Fan Ruguo of Economics and Management School, Wuhan University presided over the young scholars' report the next day.

Professor Chen Yanbin, executive director of the National Key Research Base for Teaching Materials of Economics, Renmin University of China, presided over the winner's report.

Representatives of the first prize winners of "Xu Xusong Complex Science Management Award" were Professor Sheng Zhaohan, honorary dean of School of Engineering Management, Nanjing University and member of the Management Science and Engineering Evaluation Group of Academic Degrees Committee of The State Council. Representatives of the second prize winners were Professor Wang Zongjun, dean of School of Management, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Professor Shao Yunfei, School of Economics and Management, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. The representatives of the third prize winners were Professor Zhang Dongli, dean of School of Economics and Management, Hebei University of Science and Technology, Professor Yuan Shengjun, dean of School of Business, Guilin University of Electronic Science and Technology, And Assistant Professor Yin Ximing, special Associate Researcher of School of Management and Economics, Beijing Institute of Technology.

Professor Fang Debin presided over the closing ceremony of the conference. The convenor of each project group gave the summary of the special report, and Professor Xie Kefan gave the summary of the conference. Professor Li Beiwei delivered a speech on behalf of Jilin University, the organizer of the next international Symposium on Complex Scientific Management in 2021. At last, Professor Xu Xusong delivered a speech for the successful closing of the conference. She spoke highly of the excellent research results emerging from the conference and expressed her heartfelt thanks to the organizers of the conference.
