　　讲座摘要：In January 2008, China enacted a new labor contract law intended to enhance workers’ rights. This paper studies the effects of these regulations on privatization. It uses establishment-level data from China to estimate a dynamic labor adjustment model with state and private sectors. Counterfactual experiments imply that labor market interventions, principally severance payment, slowed privatization, reduced labor reallocation and economic growth. However, a policy of credit market liberalization would have dampened the negative effects of labor regulations.

　　主讲人简介：龚关，上海财经大学经济学院教授，博导。主要研究方向为应用计量经济学、劳动经济学、健康经济学、老龄化和社会保障、发展经济学、中国经济问题等。于德克萨斯大学奥斯丁分校取得博士学位。文章发表于Rand Journal of Economics, Journal of Econometrics, Economic Journal等一流国际经济学期刊。
